We build infrastructure for
African healthcare.
OFFIN Healthcare is a Ghanaian health technology company building the tools that hospitals across West Africa actually need — reliable, affordable, and designed for the realities of working in low-resource settings.
Our Mission
Cardiac disease is the leading cause of death globally, yet most hospitals in sub-Saharan Africa still rely on manual paper-based ECG workflows. Data lives on device memory cards. Clinicians share printouts between departments. Critical findings get lost before they reach the patient's file.
We built ECG:Connect to change that — starting with a gateway that works offline, integrates with existing devices and HMIS systems, and doesn't require a reliable internet connection to function.
Clinical first
Every feature is evaluated against one question: does this help the clinician make a better decision faster? We build tools for the ward, not for demos.
Offline by default
Ghana has world-class hospitals that operate on unreliable internet. Our architecture assumes connectivity is a bonus, not a baseline — because in healthcare, downtime costs lives.
Data sovereignty
Patient data belongs to patients and the institutions that care for them — not to software vendors. The gateway model keeps data on-site by default. Cloud sync is opt-in.
The story so far
OFFIN Healthcare founded in Accra. Initial research: 14 district hospitals surveyed. ECG data management identified as the highest-impact unsolved problem.
Development of requirements analysis for First gateway prototype. Mindray and GE device parsers built and validated. HL7 MLLP integration tested with DHIMS2.
DICOM support added. Multi-vendor gateway released. Cloud platform launched with multi-tenant architecture, AI interpretation rule engine, and billing.
ECG:Connect officially launched. LLM-based interpretation (Enterprise). FHIR R4 cloud API. Expanding across West Africa.
